New website launched

Today we launched our new website. It is a significant leap forwards for the club and brings a host of beneficial features for our members, such as:

• Online renewals: renew your membership directly through the website.
• Join SGBA directly from the website.
• Pay online with a credit/debit card or by Direct Debit for membership and courses.
• View all club events on a unified calendar and subscribe to calendar updates so the club events will automatically appear on your device.
• Login securely into the website to update your details in "My Account" and those of any others associated with your membership.
• Read Club news and stay up-to-date with club activities.
• Register and pay for events online.
• View the website on your mobile device. The new site adapts to different screen sizes.
• Volunteer for events using our new up-to-date duty roster.
• Receive more relevant and (hopefully) more engaging emails.
• Manage your family memberships: children in family memberships are fully integrated into the system, so that as they become older they too can sign up for events and play an active part in helping run and shape the future of the Club.

What you see on the website is only a small part of what is happening beneath the surface; it is the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Under the surface we have new systems for managing members, their memberships, allocating boats/kayaks/inflatables to spaces, managing events, sending out emails to members and managing payments from members. It should help us manage SGBA more effectively, and make it administratively simpler to organise events which we hope will enable us to expand our activities on and off the water.

As it is a significant change for the Club there are bound to be issues. Please bear with the team behind the launch as we work through any problems. We are keen to have your feedback about the system and the information available on the website. Let us know what you think.
