The candidate must complete the practical exercise described on P 18 of the RYA Powerboat Scheme Syllabus & Logbook G20, and satisfactorily answer questions on Section B of the Powerboat Level 2 syllabus on pages 15 & 16 of the RYA Powerboat Scheme Syllabus & Logbook G20.
Candidates seeking assessment on coastal waters will demonstrate a knowledge and practical application of Section C on page 16 of the RYA Powerboat Scheme Syllabus & Logbook G20.
Practical Assessment of all Candidates for Level 2
The Practical excercise detailed in the diagram on page 18 of the RYA Powerboat Scheme Syllabus & Logbook G20 shows the manoeuvres required to be demonstrated during the practical assessment. Candidates are expected to show that they understand the principles of each manoeuvre. Failure to complete a manoeuvre successfully at the first attempt will not necessarily result in overall failure, but a timely awareness of the need to abort an exercise and try again is important.
IMPORTANT
For Direct Assessment for Powerboat Level 2 to be successful, candidates will need to study the Syllabus and be able to perform the manoeuvres and demonstrate the knowledge described and illustrated in the RYA publication, Start Powerboating E-G48, a copy of which is included in the cost of the Assessment and will be provided in advance.
Duration: 1 day with time for familiarisation and practice followed by the Direct Assessment
