  • Use of two club powerboats when not required for safety boat or course events, subject to suitable qualifications - for a fee per day / half day to cover fuel and contribute towards maintenance. Full details here.

Joining SGBA:

Click the "Apply for membership" button at the bottom of the screen. Have the following details ready:

  1. Choose your membership category: Joint (£125), Family (£140), Sole Adult Family (£125), Individual (£110), Individual aged 18-21 (£30), Individual aged 22-26 (£55).
  2. The membership year runs from 1st March. New members joining between 30th September and end of February will be charged the standard annual fee for their category, but this will automatically include the first full membership year (effectively gaining the winter months membership free). The amounts of the membership subscriptions for the coming season are published in December. If you join before the coming seasons rates are published you are charged the rate for the season just ending / ended. If you join after the coming seasons rates are published you are charged the new rate.
  3. The names, email, mobile telephone number and home address of all adults in your membership. For family membership supply the names and dates of birth of children. If you wish to provide dates of birth for adults it will help us ensure we are catering for all age groups.
  4. Whether you are applying to rent a space for a dinghy, kayak, canoe, tender, or outboard engine, or to rent a locker (there are waiting lists for some of these). If there is no available space you will be added to the relevant waiting list and wont be charged the annual storage fee(s) for the storage applied for. The 2025 storage charges for the membership year are as follows: boat park space £75, Six foot locker £55, Tender/Inflatable rack £50, Outboard rack £45, Kayak/Canoe rack £40. These charges are not offered on a pro rate basis if you join part way through the year - i.e. you pay the whole amount.
    Any questions email membership@sgba.org.uk

Once you have joined and paid your membership fee which includes club boat use, we will arrange to meet you for an induction and show you the club facilities and provide safety information. Following your induction you will then be able to book and take out club boats. Please read the details on the SGBA boat section. For details of upcoming inductions, please refer to the club calendar, or contact membership@sgba.org.uk

Please Note:

  • SGBA has no car parking facilities. You can park at the public Millpond car park, but there is a £6 daily charge and the car park fills up quickly in the summer. Alternative parking may be found in the village, a short walk away. NB: There is no member vehicle access along the foreshore to the clubhouse or dinghy park.
  • Please remember buoyancy aids must be worn at all times when using any SGBA club boat (including SUPs, rowing skiffs and power boats) and all club boat use must be booked in advance of use via the website.
