Not sure the Dart Harbour Authority had this in mind when they added the Mill Point pontoon with the aim of attracting more waterborne visitors to Stoke Gabriel.

Around 50 club members took to the water for the SGBA Regatta 2019 on a cloudy September Sunday but the weather was kind and the rain held off. There were hotly contested races for junior and senior sailors, kayakers and paddle boarders. Lots of smiles and stiff competition. Unfortunately one of the Wanderer's centre boards snapped during the school sailing sessions. A replacement from the manufacturers turned out to be ridiculously expensive. Fortunately we did not have to mortgage the clubhouse as Steve Goodchild volunteered to build a new one from scratch. Marvel at the craftsmanship on display in the series of photos as a new centre-board emerges from a rough plank of Sapele Mahogany .

SGBA and the two oldest years groups of the primary school enjoyed some dinghy sailing at the beginning of September. The gusts on the first morning kept the safety boat crews busy but fortunately by the third day we were blessed with perfect weather for beginners. The kids had a great time and we only suffered from one mildly traumatised teaching assistant who had not anticipated being recruited as crew for one of the safety
