Kayaks and Canadian Canoes

SGBA has a variety of single and double sit-on-top kayaks, plus three Canadian canoes that can be used by club members who have paid the £40 annual boat use fee and who have booked to use them in advance via the website.

The kayaks and canoes are stored behind the club house in the Quarry at Mill Point. Paddles are stored in the club house basement along with kayak seats.

Remember you must always wear a bouyancy aid or lifejacket when using an SGBA kayak or canoe and use it within your competency for the prevailing tidal and weather conditions.

Children can use the kayaks and canoes provided they are accompanied on the water by a responsible adult (in either a kayak, SGBA motorboat or another suitable craft).

The kayaks and canoes must not be dragged along the foreshore and care should be taken when grounding and launching not to damage the hulls. Any damage or loss to the boats needs to be reported to the Quartermaster (paddles).

Kayak and Canoe storage

If you have your own kayak or canoe, you can apply for foreshore storage on the SGBA canoe racks. Please contact the Dinghy Park Officer for more information.
