  • Login problems Summary


    If you are having problems logging into the site, try following the list of options below. If all fails contact membership@sgba.org.uk with details of the email addresses you are trying to use to login

    1. Check recent emails from the club to see what email address we are using to send you emails. Is this a different email address from the one you have been using trying to login? If so try logging in using this email address.
    2. Use the forgotten password link to request a new password. The website will automatically send you an email containing a link to use to reset your password. Use the email address that the club has been using to send you emails.
    3. If all fails or you want to change your login email address or allow others in your membership to login contact membership@sgba.org.uk with updated email addresses.
  • How COVID-19 affects SGBA events and operations?

    Suspension of club activities during Lockdown 3

    To comply with the national lockdown beginning 6th January 2021 the clubhouse is closed to all members and club boats are not available for use.

    Dart Harbour have issued a Local Notice To Mariners which outlines restrictions on the use of the river:

    • Businesses and services involving outdoor sportsgrounds and facilities (including water sports venues) are required to cease carrying on that business or providing that service.
    • If you choose to exercise through activities such as swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking or rowing, then you should consider; a) do you feel this is within the spirit of the rules and b) the impact that this could have on the emergency services should you get in to difficulty. Consideration should also be given to the lack of traffic on the river therefore limited opportunities to report incidents.

    Government guidance also states you should not travel outside your local area for your once per day exercise.

    Questions and Answers

    Q: Can I use my own craft?
    A: Yes the river is open for outdoor exercise, but please check with Dart Harbour for up-to-date guidance.

    Q: Can I use the toilet?
    A: No. Club buildings are closed to all members during the lockdown.

    Q: Can I drive along the foreshore to retrieve my boat?
    A: No. Our planning consent does not allow members to drive along the foreshore. Please float your boat to the quay slipway and retrieve from there. Any questions please contact commodore@sgba.org.uk

    How do I login?


    Login via the "login" link at the top right of the screen as shown in the image

    Once you've logged-in you can check and edit your details. You will also be able to book events directly online.

    How do I login if I've forgotten my password?


    Tap on the "login" link at the top right of the screen as shown in the image, then tap on the "Forgotten password" link and follow the instructions.

    How do I renew my membership?


    1. Login via the "login" link at the top right of the screen (if you are not already logged in). See how do I login? and screen shot above
    2. Click on my account
    3. Click on "renew" within my account (see first image below)
    4. Click on "renew this membership" (1) (see second image below)
    5. Optionally click on "renew this mooring" (2) (if you have any dinghy park spaces to renew)
    6. Click on "Renew selected" (3)
    7. You can pay for your membership using a credit/debit card or by configuring GoCardless which creates a direct debit mandate between your bank and SGBA
    8. Follow the payment instructions to complete your renewal.

    How do I check that I have paid all my invoices?


    1. Login via the "login" link at the top right of the screen (if you are not already logged in). See how do I login?
    2. Click on "My Account".
    3. Click on "invoices" within my "My Account".
    4. Click on any unpaid invoices.
  • How is my payment secure?


    We do not take your bank or credit/debit card details directly so you don't have to trust us! Instead when you enter you bank account or credit/debit card details they are being entered into 3rd party sites:

    What is GoCardless and how do I set it up?


    GoCardless enables us to setup a Direct Debit mandate between you and SGBA. When you pay via GoCardless money is taken directly from you bank account. All payments are covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee and you can cancel the agreement at any time.

    You can choose to pay with Credit/Debit cards or GoCardless however GoCardless charges us less per transaction so more of your money goes to the Club.

    How do I subscribe to the calendar of events?


    By clicking on "Click here to subscribe to this calendar" you will subscribe to calendar updates so the club events will automatically appear on your device.

  • Why is my child's date of birth set to 01/01/2010?


    Our system needs a way to differentiate between adults and children for membership and privacy. We didn't have a record of children's date of birth so we arbitrarily set all children's date of birth to be 01/01/2010. You can easily update it, see: How do I check and update details of others in my membership

  • Why is my partner not receiving emails?


    You partner is probably not receiving emails as we don't have a record of their email address.

    How do I check and update details of others in my membership?


    1. Click on "My Account"
    2. Click on "Membership" within my "My Account"
    3. Scroll down the page to see everyone within you membership
    4. Use the multiple "Update [name]" buttons to update others details.
  • How do I setup a login for my partner or child?


    1. Firstly ensure that they have a login email address set. see: How do I check and update details of others in my membership
    2. Then let us know that you'd like to enable login for them.

    Can I offer my boat for sale to SGBA members?


    You can advertise your boat or sell any other boating related items through the website. See screen grab below. Once you've added your item for sale to the website let us know through newsletter@sgba.org.uk and we'll highlight new items for sale in the weekly newsletter. You can also use the facility to give away items, simply enter 0.0 for the price and the item will be marked as free.
