SGBA Slipway working party

There are two main tasks to complete the rebuild of the slipway and start preparations for the gabion baskets alongside it. The two tasks are to

  • Create a smooth transition between slipway and foreshore
  • Organise rock and rubble ready to pack gabion baskets alongside the new slipway

Works to start Saturday 14th at 1230hrs

Task sequence

  1. Stack old concrete from slip to quarry face Start today if you are free!
  2. Cut concrete for 'mats grid' to link slipway to foreshore Stone cutter
  3. Concrete to fill gap between slipway and wall by benches Ballast, cement, mixer
  4. Concrete to link 'mats grid' to slipway/fshore Ballast, cement, mixer
  5. Small gravel to fill 'mats grids' Small trailer of gravel
  6. Gravel to level dinghy park to slipway Small trailer of gravel

Volunteers

Can you please let Roger Stobbart know if you are able to come along and help with any of the following:

  • Manual labour
  • A small cement mixer for the weekend
  • Deliver a small trailer of ballast and one of gravel

Please bring your own shovel, gloves and energy!
