Sunday Sailing & Boating

A chance for members to use SGBA club boats, or their own boats in a friendly supervised environment. A Shore Monitor is responsible for the event and a safety boat will be on the river. At most sessions a Dinghy Instructor will be on hand to provide advice and assistance.
Some points to remember:
- Booking a club boat is free however you must have paid your Annual boat use fee in order to book. Club boats must be booked before use. If your plans change please cancel your booking.
- There will be safety boat cover during the event.
- Check with the SEAL before heading out: Safe conditions. Emergency contact. Appropriate clothing. Life jacket or buoyancy aid.
- The following boats are available for booking - 12 x Teras, 6 x Toppers, 6 x Picos, 4 x Lasers, 3 x Quests, 3 x Fevas, 1 x Topaz, 1 x Scillabub (Drascombe Lugger), 1 x Dibber (Devon Yawl), 1 x Whitehall Skiff, 1 x Family SUP.
- Kayak, canoes and SUPS can be booked using the standard booking system.
- Inform the Shore Monitor before launching and on return to Mill Point. The sailing area and emergency contact numbers will be displayed at the event.
- Changing and shower facilities are available in the clubhouse, along with tea/coffee making facilities. The club's gas BBQ can be used by members (food on a BYO basis and assuming BBQ is cleaned afterwards).
- Sailors under the age of 16 who have not yet achieved RYA Stage 2 must be accompanied on the water by a supervising adult.
