Thank you to all who attended our Coronation Social and Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Friday 5 May. It was great to see almost 50 members meeting for a such a sociable occasion.

You can find here a brief summary of the AGM's outcomes. You can read a full re-cap in the document attached below, alongside the AGM minutes, courtesy of our outgoing Trustee Secretary Julian Williams. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank Julian for his sterling work behind the scenes, organising this event.

As part of AGM proceedings, the meeting reviewed the 2022's Annual Report and Accounts. These were approved.

This AGM marked the retirement of several trustees, whose support for the SGBA has been invaluable for many years. This includes John Bradbury, Roger Stobbart, Peter Walsh, David Hazelton, and Julian Williams. These trustees have formed the backbone of the Association for an admirable number of years, and our many thanks go out to them for their reliable and discerning work on the SGBA's behalf.

Thank you to all the volunteers who answered the call to positions on our Trustee Board and Executive Committee. The AGM saw the election of new members to both bodies. Our new Trustees are: Peter Barton-Wood, Ian Curror, Andy Hammond, Peter Lyle, and Michael Simmons. Meanwhile, Marianne Austin, George Barton-Wood, and Paul Redwood have been elected to the Executive Committee. We look forward to working with you all to shape the SGBA's future!

William Lewis, previously Vice-Commodore, was confirmed as the SGBA's new Commodore until 2025. Chris Moore stepped down to the customary position of Vice-Commodore. Adam Smith now takes over the role of RYA Principal here at the SGBA, with Peter Waite moving across to the Trustee Board. We are pleased to have Marianne Austin as our new Safeguarding Officer, and Mark Flint newly as Quartermaster (Powerboats).

In recognition of his 20 years dedication to the club, John Bradbury (Trustee and AGM chair) was awarded an Honorary Life Membership by the SGBA. River Lovejoy, Bosun and Boatpark Manager, was also awarded Honorary Life Membership. We would like to thank both John and River for all the hard work and care they have put in to making the SGBA the welcoming and successful club that it is today. We now look forward, too, to the future!
