Since the Drascombe Lugger Scillabub was donated to the Stoke Gabriel Boating Association three years ago (and featured in PBO, Dec 2019), she's become a beloved member of the SBGA fleet. However, roofer Alfie Dunn took that affection to a new level when he proposed to his girlfriend Melissa Jones on board. SGBA Commodore Chris Moore took the couple out on a tour of the River Dart and Alfie went down on one knee and offered Melissa a diamond ring. "It was either she said yes," he says, "or I'd get chucked in the river."
We are pleased to report the couple are getting married in September, followed by a honeymoon afloat this time on a cruise ship.
