Volunteers needed for Monitored sailing
Published 12:43 on 21 Aug 2020
Are you looking for a way to get more involved with SGBA club activities? Perhaps you've enjoyed recent Monitored Sailing and racing sessions, and you'd like to ensure these events keep going? If so please volunteer as a Monitor. No prior experience is needed for the shore based monitor. We will brief you in advance and check all is well on the day. To volunteer, choose a session from the list of up-coming Monitored sailing sessions and scroll to the bottom of a specific session to the "Duty Roster" section and press the green "Volunteer' button. It's a great way to get involved and meet up with other members. Any questions please contact Roger via volunteering@sgba.org.uk. To learn more about the role see Covid Mill Point Monitor Guidancev7.pdf
We would also like more safety-boat helm volunteers. To be a safety boat helm you should hold a valid certificate from the list of accepted qualification for power boat use and have taken the SGBA safety boat induction course. Alternatively you can enrol in one of our PB2 courses. If you have any questions about the induction or PB2 courses please contact either Brian Deacon (commodore@sgba.org.uk) or Chris Moore (vice-commodore@sgba.org.uk).
Remember: The club is run entirely on a volunteer basis. The more volunteers we have, the more activities the club can run.
Thanks in advance.
